Alibaba, a Chinese online marketplace that links companies worldwide, is a prime example of B2B e-commerce. From raw resources to finished consumer goods, Alibaba offers a wide range of goods. Businesses can buy goods in bulk, which lowers prices and streamlines supply chains. Along with providing business solutions, Alibaba also provides payment processing and logistics services (Cocca & Albert, 2019).
The term "business-to-consumer" (B2C) e-commerce" describes online transactions between companies and lone customers. Through an online platform, a firm sells its goods or services directly to customers in this type of e-commerce. Due to how convenient and easy it is to shop online from the comfort of one's own home, B2C e-commerce has been extremely popular in recent years.

Amazon, the world's largest online retailer and e-commerce platform, is one example of business-to-consumer e-commerce. Customers can shop and buy from a large selection of things on Amazon, including everything from gadgets to food. Additionally, many of the company's products are eligible for free shipping and returns, making it a desirable alternative for many online buyers.
Consumer-to-Consumer (C2C)

The online marketplace eBay, which enables people to display products they want to sell, is one example of C2C e-commerce. Then buyers place bids on these products, with the highest bidder finally being chosen by the seller. In the fourth quarter of 2020, eBay reported having 185 million active users (eBay, 2021).
Consumer-to-Business (C2B)
Consumer-to-business (C2B) e-commerce is the term used to describe online transactions between consumers and businesses. In this kind of e-commerce, both buyers and sellers switch roles. Due to the growth of the gig economy, where people can sell their services or goods on various online platforms, C2B e-commerce has gained popularity (Scribner, 2017).

Freelancing marketplaces like Fiverr, where freelancers market their skills to companies and consumers, are an illustration of C2B e-commerce. Customers can peruse the many category sites and choose a freelancer based on reviews, ratings, and specialization. On the other side, independent contractors have more control over their work schedules, pricing, and profiles because they may tailor them to their individual needs (Fiverr, 2021).
E-commerce between enterprises and government organizations is referred to as "business-to-government" (B2G) e-commerce. When firms compete for contracts to supply the government with goods or services, this sort of e-commerce frequently incorporates government procurement (Lee, 2018).

The US Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) platform, a website where companies may look for and submit bids for government contracts, is one example of B2G e-commerce. Businesses can use the website to identify opportunities listed by multiple federal agencies and submit applications to compete for government contracts (US General Services Administration, n.d.).
Governments all over the world are continuing to digitize their procurement procedures, making it simpler for firms to access government possibilities, which is why B2G e-commerce is growing more and more significant (Deloitte, 2018).
