Analysis of Aliexpress and Amazon E-commerce Websites

Analysing Aliexpress and Amazon e-commerce to find their comparisons and possible feature improvement.

 1. User interface and navigation:

According to Deng and Huang (2018), Amazon offers a better experience in terms of visuals, simplicity, and user-friendliness than Aliexpress. Amazon's design is in line with modern minimalist design principles, while Aliexpress's interface is a bit clumsy. To improve its navigation, Aliexpress should adopt a more intuitive and user-friendly design that adheres to current design trends.


2. List of products:

As noted by PandaDoc (2021), Amazon has a cleaner product listing layout, with clear images showing all the essential details of the product such as buyer ratings and reviews, preferences shopping, etc., products, shipping times and prices. However, Aliexpress provides more detailed information about the products they sell than Amazon. To improve customer shopping experience, Amazon should also provide more detailed product information like Aliexpress.


3. Shipping options:

According to Canalys (2021), Aliexpress has better shipping options than Amazon, with most sellers offering free shipping. Amazon offers faster shipping in exchange for a fee. Aliexpress needs to provide more accurate and accurate shipping times and estimates, and more shipping options to meet diverse customer preferences.

4. Customer Support:

As noted by PandaDoc (2021), Amazon provides excellent customer support, with multiple customer service touchpoints. Aliexpress customer support is available but can be difficult to find. To improve the customer support experience, Aliexpress needs to develop more direct and accessible customer support, either through live chat or phone support.


5. Payment system:

According to Aliexpress (n.d.) and Amazon (n.d.), Aliexpress has more payment options, including credit cards, digital wallets like Alipay, and bank transfers; while Amazon only accepts card payments. Amazon needs to offer more payment options like digital wallets to accommodate customers who don't want to add payment information to Amazon.
